The right preparation for foot taping

1. Prepare the skin

  • Make sure your skin is clean, dry and oil-free

  • Avoid creams or lotions – they reduce adhesion

  • For heavy hair growth: shave or trim

  • Optional: Use prewrap to protect sensitive skin

2. Prepare the tape

  • Tear your tape to the right length – no tools required!

  • Make sure to round the edges slightly – this will prevent it from rolling up

  • Prepare the strips in advance to be able to stick them faster


Instructions: Taping feet with sports tape – step by step

Technique 1: Stabilize the ankle (classic tape bandage)

Ideal for: gymnastics, trampoline landings, acrobatic throws

  1. Start with an anchor on the lower leg

  2. Place another anchor around the midfoot

  3. Apply stirrup strips from the inside to the outside – 2–3 layers

  4. Complete with a Heel Lock to secure the heel

Technique 2: Blister protection for the sole and ball of the foot

  3. Make sure the tape is applied smoothly and without tension
